Lyfe Jennings Boston Concert reviews
Madonna put on an amazing show, but...
Madonna, as a diva, still has it. Martin Solveig did a great opening DJ set, Madonna didn't take the stage until almost 11pm. Her core audience is the 40-something crowd who knew her from the 80's - she has this rep with all of her shows. Madonna, as a performer, can rock the house, and she did Thursday. Starting a show that late on a school / work night is inconsiderate and smacks of a prima donna who does what she wants, when she wants, with no consideration of others. This late-starting reputation wasn't just for this one show - and some have started later than ours. All the old favorite music and some new, fantastic production value, great choreography and stagecraft, and a very unique pitch fundraising for hurricane Sandy victims. It's a shame, but by the time the show ended at 1am, I was thankful that there were no encores.
